You gotta be kidding me! Amazon has been granted the patent for Search-Request URL.

"You're not supposed to be able to patent anything that's obvious. That's a gross oversimplification of complex US patent law..."  So it says on Download Squad's post about US Patent office's rejection to Amazon's One-Click patent.
Is it not obvious that the box noted by No. 14 in the above diagram (part of the original patent) is nothing but a HTTP Request handler? Does that mean if I were to file a patent for a handler that serves images or some other file format for a URL request of the same format, I will be granted one? I'm sorry, but that's just stupid!
I hope someone like Peter Calveley will file a re-examination request soon.
